My entry for the MAMA Scared Stiff Contest. My greatest fear as a child, as a teenager, and creeping into my adult life, is spiders. Or a spider. Anything remotely close to resembling a spider. Pieces of lint in the semi-shape of a spider... Anywho, this piece took me FOREVER to finish because I wanted to research what different spiders looked like. And let me tell you, Google Image searching "scary spiders" for anyone who's arachnophobic is a HORRIBLE idea! But it's done! I hope you like it, or it creeps you out. Either or. Crits welcome! Thanks!

If I was standing where that girl was, I would be balling right now. Spiders are my BIGGEST fear, and I live out in the country with a nice long driveway lined with trees, so you can imagine that my walk to the house in the summer is my own personal hell.

It's so strange, every single insect/bug/or anything with an exoskeleton freaks me out (especially ants...shudders) but I love spiders. OK that's a lie, daddy long legs creep me the eff out, but tarantulas are OK, maybe cuz they're furry? XD
That was a long-winded and quite irrelevant way of saying this pic is gorgeous! I thought that this was a black and white photo. It sucks that you had to freak yourself out trying to draw all these spiders :( good luck in the contest!

It's basically a running gag on a web show called the Nostalgia critic. WHenever a spider appears, that guy shows up.
